Public Computers
Public computers are available in the A-level Study Commons, the main Reading Room, and a few other places throughout the Research Library for short-term use in accessing the UCLA Library Catalog, other online catalogs, and licensed electronic resources. A limited number are accessible by the general public with no login, the rest require a UCLA Logon ID to access. Printing is available using a UCLA BruinCard. Computers in the stacks on the third, fourth, and fifth floors can be used to access the UCLA Library Catalog only.
Laptop Lending
UCLA students, faculty, and staff who need to use a computer for an extended period of time or with more software options are encouraged to check out a laptop. The laptop loan service point is located near the end of the street on the first floor.
Using Your Own Laptop
Wireless Internet access is available throughout the building. Further information on how to connect to the Internet using your own laptop is available online.
Geographic Information Systems
GIS software applications are available on the laptops provided by the Laptop Lending service. For access to spatial data and GIS services in the library, see the Cartographic Resources research guide.
