Powell Music Concerts in the Rotunda feature student and faculty groups from the UCLA Departments of Music, Musicology and Ethnomusicology. This series was created to give student music groups another venue to perform on the UCLA campus. These concerts are free and open to the public. Tickets are not needed.

Bach Cello Suites

Alexandra Roedder, Baroque Cello

Evening Concert – 8 p.m.

 

UCLA Musicology PhD student Alexandra Roedder will perform the first two Suites for Cello by J.S. Bach. She has a B.A. degree in music from UC Berkeley and studied baroque cello at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag in the Netherlands.

                                                

Coachella Valley Chamber Players

Thursday, May 22

Afternoon Concert – 4 p.m.

 

This professional woodwind ensemble will present a program of Baroque music and recent compositions on period and modern instruments.
