Photographer Carol Petersen shares her vision of UCLA women students, who envision and themselves represent the future in a series of 100 black-and-white photographs. This exhibit focuses on women students as creative individuals and engaged members of the campus community. She photographs graduate students in MFA programs in film directing and dance are shown at work, producing films and presenting dance concerts with strong autobiographical elements and incisive social commentary. | ||

This exhibit is affiliated with the "UCLA Women 4 Change 2000" project, a week-long celebration and call to action focused on UCLA women, scheduled for April 17-21, 2000. This exhibit will also be shown at a national conference on women in higher education at the University of Minnesota: "Women's Lives, Women's Voices, Women's Solutions," March 27 -28, 2000. | ||

During the week of April 17th, every individual, department and organization associated with UCLA will have the opportunity to participate in UCLA Women 4 Change 2000. This is an occasion to celebrate UCLA women's presence, diversity, and achievements and to address as well the absences and challenges so persistent on this campus and higher education. progress. | |

Through a week-long series of events-including a women's resource fair, a student festival, faculty symposia, and other occasions for dialogue and networking-the UCLA community will come together to honor women's gains and to begin creating a campus agenda for further progress. | |
