Tips and Tricks for World Wide Web Searching
- For a more precise search, try going down through menus in a subject tree,
or use the subject tree's search engine.
- Begin with a simple search through a general search engine & think critically about
the engine, its features and the search results, based on the preceding questions.
- Cast a wide net, by using the same search words, and then synonyms or related terms
in a number of different search engines to compare their features, and for more
comprehensive results.
- For greater precision and comprehensiveness, try using complex searches or a
variety of advanced search options, in a number of different search engines.
- Check online help or Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
