Mindful Awareness

As part of the UCLA Healthy Campus Initiative Powell Library hosts Mindful Awareness Sessions on Wednesdays, 12:30pm – 1:00pm, through June 11, 2014. The sessions will go on hiatus through the summer and resume fall quarter.

The weekly “drop-in” sessions are led by UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center’s Diana Winston and Marvin Belzer, and are held in the Powell Library, East Rotunda.

Mindful Awareness is the moment-by-moment process of actively and openly observing one’s physical, mental and emotional experiences. Mindfulness has scientific support as a means to reduce stress, improve attention, boost the immune system, reduce emotional re-activity, and promote a general sense of health and well-being. Sessions are open to anyone interested in learning how to 'live more presently' in life.
