New Copiers in New Locations

New, easy-to-use copiers now available on all bound journal stack levels

The Biomedical Library currently is replacing all seventeen copiers with new and improved equipment. The new self-service copier is the OCE model 2465 LC pictured below.

Oce 2465 LC photocopier After a trial of various copiers in the first floor reading room during spring quarter 2001, the OCE 2465 LC was the one most positively evaluated by users. It is similar to the current OCE copiers except that it is bigger. The new OCE has features that library staff and users find essential such as a user-friendly control panel, sloped side panel, and an adjustable book support.

Eventually this new model will be available throughout the UCLA Library system, but the copiers at Biomed and the Law Library were the oldest and most in need of replacement.

For the convenience of our users, some of the new copiers are being relocated on different stack levels where bound journals are shelved. Users will no longer have to cart journals to level three.

Copier Locations

First Floor Reading Room Two copiers near unbound periodicals
Stack Level One One copier on south wall
Stack Level Two Two copiers on south wall
Stack Level Three Five copiers on west wall
Stack Level Five Three copiers on south wall
Stack Level Six Two copiers on south wall
Stack Level Seven Two copiers on south wall

UCLA Library photocopiers use CopiCards instead of coins. If you are a current UCLA faculty, staff, or student, you may obtain a blank, UC-rate (7½ cents per page) CopiCard at no charge at the Biomedical Library circulation desk by presenting your BruinCard or UCLA Healthcare I.D. Value can be added to it using cash at the vending machines located in the first floor reading room near the library entrance. Non-UC users may purchase a non-UC rate (10 cents per page) CopiCard at the same vending machines.
