Laptop Lending Service

UCLA students, faculty, and staff can borrow a laptop at the Circulation Desk. A BruinCard and UCLA Logon ID are required. Laptops can be borrowed for four hours at a time and can be renewed if no one else is waiting to borrow one.  They can be taken out of the library.

Wireless Internet access through the UCLA Wireless Network is available in the library. A UCLA Logon ID and a Web browser or VPN client are required for authentication; loaned laptops have a shortcut to the VPN client on their desktop.

Ethernet ports are available at the study carrels in the Current Journals Reading Room on the first floor and on stack levels four through eight, nine, and ten. A UCLA Logon ID and Web browser are required for to access the Internet.

Printing is available for eleven cents per page using a BruinCard or a UCLA Visitor Card. Files can be stored on the laptops and on users' own portable drives.

A list of software, laptop equipment, and other information about the laptop lending service is available on the College Library Instructional Computing Commons (CLICC) Web site.
