Met Opera and Berliner Philharmoniker Trials

Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - 10:45am to Thursday, May 31, 2018 - 11:45pm

We are now excited to announce that for the month of May, we have trial subscriptions to two new resources: Met Opera on Demand: Student Access, and the Berliner Philharmoniker Digital Concert Hall.

Met Opera on Demand: Student Access (http://metopera.org/season/on-demand) offers UCLA users instant access to more than 600 full-length Met performances, including stunning HD videos from the Met’s award-winning Live in HD series of movie theater transmissions, classic telecasts from the 1970s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, and hundreds of radio broadcasts dating back to 1935. The site and its content are fully accessible on most mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) directly through the website as well. All videos include English subtitles, and recent HD videos include subtitles in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and/or Swedish.  New titles are added every month, with most of the Met’s Live in HD programs coming online a few months after their live transmission date. Every opera includes an English synopsis, with synopses in multiple languages available for many operas.

Berliner Philharmoniker Digital Concert Hall for Institutions (http://www.digital-concert-hall.com - registration needed for free access) offers hundreds of exclusive concert recordings on demand, from the present and the past, with over 40 live streams every year. Also included are artist interviews, feature length documentaries, and insightful concert introductions from the Berliner Philharmoniker’s programme books. Signing up with a free personalized user account enables access on computers, smartphones, tablets, plus TVs, Blu-ray players and set-top boxes.

Please let us know what you think of this resource for UCLA.
