Artists' Books by Fiat Lux Students

Monday, August 3, 2015 - 9:00am to Friday, October 30, 2015 - 6:00pm

This exhibit features artists' books by undergraduate students created in the Fiat Lux seminar "Artists' Books in the UCLA Library and Beyond," held in Spring 2015.

Taught by Visual Arts Librarian Robert Gore, the course offered an introduction to the genre and to artists' books in library collections at UCLA. In sessions led by guest lecturers, students examined artists' books held by the Arts Library, UCLA Library Special Collections, and William Andrews Clark Memorial Library. During the class students also had the chance to learn about zines and see work done by former students.

For their final assignment, students were given the opportunity to make their own artists' book.

The exhibit is on view in the first floor East Exhibit Case through October 2015.
