Taiwan Resources Center for China Studies (TRCSS)
The Taiwan Resource Center for Chinese Studies (TRCCS) initiated by the National Central Library (NCL) in 2012. The purpose of establishing TRCCS in overseas research libraries around the world is to promote Taiwan’s achievements in the field of Sinology studies, to build a global Sinological resources and information platform and to broaden and deepen cultural exchanges between the Chinese and Western worlds.
NCL collaborates with the institutions that have library’s publication exchange ties and three decades of academic interactions in the field of Chinese Studies with NCL.
On November 13, 2017, Dr. Shu-Hsiang Tseng, Director-General of NCL and Dr. Sharon Farb, Associate University Librarian for Library Special Collections, East Asian Library and the International Studies Programs at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), signed agreement, the 3rdTRCCS in the United Stated has formally established in the Richard C. Rudolph East Asian Library (EAL) at UCLA after the University of Texas at Austin and University of Washington Libraries.
At the first year, the NCL donated 1,000 titles of Chinese Studies published in Taiwan to the UCLA EAL, the books have been cataloged and ready to be borrowed by users. For the entire list of titles, please click TRCCS, an accumulative list of titles will appear.
