YRL Communications Line General Guidelines

  1. Questions will be referred to the appropriate individual or unit for response when possible. Questions that fall outside the scope of the library’s responsibilities may not be answered.
  2. Questions on similar topics or issues may be responded to collectively.
  3. Questions concerning or naming specific staff members will not be answered. YRL Communications Line coordinators will forward questions or concerns about specific staff members to the individual involved and his/her supervisor.
  4. Every question may not be responded to publicly; when and where appropriate, some questions may be answered in an individual (not public) response, if contact information is provided.
  5. In order to insure accuracy of responses, YRL Communications Line coordinators will refer questions to the appropriate individual or unit for response.
  6. YRL will make every effort to respond to questions within a week. Responses to questions that need to be referred may take longer.
