How-to Guides...
America: History and Life
Coverage varies. Citations to articles on American and Canadian history.
Historical Abstracts
Covers 1450-present. Citations to articles on the history of the world from 1450 to the present (excluding the United States and Canada, which are covered in America: History and Life).
JSTOR
Covers 1845-present. Full text content of core journals in the social sciences and humanities. A basic keyword search might pull up many irrelevant articles (it searches for words anywhere in the article), so using the advanced search screen will help. more info
Project Muse
Covers 1990-present. Full text of about 250 scholarly journals in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. You can use Library of Congress Subject Headings to search. (This means that a subject search that works in the Library Catalog will probably also work well in Project Muse). Links to JSTOR for older articles. more info

Periodicals Contents Index (PCI)
Covers 1665-1995. Citations and some full text for journal articles in the humanities and social sciences. Includes book reviews. more info
