Our software and equipment is constantly evolving, and with that comes a few growing pains. Here are the current issues you may experience with our software, along with ways to work around them. We're already working on fixes for these issues, which are usually resolved at the start of the next term. If you notice any recurring issues not listed below, however, contact us at email@example.com.
On CLICC desktops, the Unity Web Player plugin loads for a second, and then gives an error. To fix the plugin, please click the "Install Manually" link that appears and then download and run the installer. Once installed, reload the webpage with the plugin and it will work.
Content will not play directly in the web browser. Be advised that these music links are actually .smil files, not web content, that are suppoed to be downloaded and streamed in the standalone RealPlayer application. This is similar to downloading a .docx file and opening it in Word. If you clicked a .docx link in a web browser you would not expect the Word document to display in the browser itself. In most cases the standalone RealPlayer application will launch automatically, but in some browsers you may need to manually click the downloaded .smil file. Also note that this audio is streaming content and you will sometimes need to wait for audio to load. You may experience typical streaming issues like the audio stops or sputters with a slow internet connection, just like watching a YouTube video. Moving the playhead around, also like with YouTube, might help to get music playing again.
