The Antiquarian Medical Book Trade: A Survey and Directory of Dealers and a List of Internet Resources Michael North, Rare Book Cataloger at the History of Medicine Division, National Library of Medicine, presents the findings of his survey of medical rare book dealers. The accompanying directory lists dealers who hold significant numbers of medical titles. It is intended for curators of history of medicine collections, private collectors, and rare book dealers. Lucretia McClure describes mysterious citations to the philately journal The Scalpel and Tongs of articles from the The Watermark and other journals. The articles do not appear in Scalpel and Tongs. The National Library of Medicine is currently investigating the problem. Ex Libris Compiled and edited by Lucretia McClure, Ex Libris contains news and announcements from Medical Historical Collections. Featured in this issue are descriptions of two exhibitions, Conception to Birth at the National Museum of Health and Medicine, and The Language of the Age: Depictions of Medicine in Graphic Satire at the Countway Library of Medicine, the announcement of the opening of the McGovern Center at the Houston Academy of Medicine, and the lecture series of several institutions News from HMD Elizabeth Fee, Chief of the History of Medicine Division at the National Library of Medicine, reports on the activities of the Division, including a new exhibition, Dream Anatomy, which opened on October 9, 2002 and will run through July 31, 2003.
